The "Blink and You'll Miss It" Trend That Took Over the Met Gala Carpet

It's oh-so-Karl.

Some of the trends at the 2023 Met Gala were definitely on our Karl Lagerfeld theme bingo card. Black and white? Definitely. Pink? Without a doubt. Slightly less expected, however, were the rosettes that took over the Met Gala carpet. While some celebs turned out dripping in crystals and hair bows, many were also spotted sporting rosettes decorating their couture gowns, including these celebs.

Chloe Fineman's custom Wiederhoeft midi dress was decorated across the bust and off-the-shoulder neckline with dozens of blooming rosettes. The black and pale pink shimmering florals added a dazzling effect to Fineman's fingerless opera gloves and deliciously on-theme cat bag, a nod to Lagerfeld's beloved Choupette.

Rita Ora's Prabal Gurung gown wasn't only sheer and stunning with visible corset boning throughout, it also features a gothically romantic scattering of rosettes across the length of the gown *and* its long train.

Emily Blunt's custom-made Michael Kors high-collared look was dripping in on-theme nods. Not only did it feature a prominent rosette at the neck, but also included black bows, floral lace, and lots of sequins.
