Blogger posts candid side-by-side backside images to be transparent with followers

Many bloggers take to flexing, sucking in, lighting techniques and the all-too familiar Photoshop to emit a certain image online. But one body positivity blogger has decided to post two candid side-by-side images of her backside in effort to be transparent with her followers — in particular the large amount of gym goers who follow her.

“Over-romanticized parts of bodies have always happened, I’m not immune to it, I’m not saying I don’t work for certain things, but within my work here online I have found peace and confidence with what I have,” wrote our fav body positivity blogger Kenzie Brenna, known as omgkenzieee on Instagram. The blonde beauty, who hails from Toronto, admitted that there isn’t a day she takes her body for granted or hates it for something it just simply isn’t.

“I don’t always like sharing posts that make me uncomfortable,” Brenna wrote. “But I feel like this is important for some women to hear and see.”

“I’m not the curvy girl with large breasts. I’m not the curvy girl with bottom ratios. I’m not anything but me,” she captioned alongside two side-by-side images, one where she’s flexing and the other where her backside is relaxed.

Because an enormous amount of gym goers follow me, I decided I would be transparent with you guys. ☀️ Do I like this this post? No. ☀️ Is either one better than the other? Not supposed to be, but aesthetically sort of. ☀️ Does that make me any less proud of what my body does day in and at out for me? No!!!! (That's how you know recovery is working ????) I don't always like sharing posts that make me uncomfortable, HUGE shoutout to my fellow active amazing friend @mindsetforlifeltd who has helped me understand you don't always need to to, but I feel like this is important for some women to hear and see. Over romanticized parts of bodies have always happened, I'm not immune to it, I'm not saying I don't work for certain things, but within my work here online I have found peace and confidence with what I have ????????????????✨ #blessed And there isn't a day I take my body for granted or hate it for something it just simply is not. ???? I'm not the curvy girl with large breasts ???? I'm not the curvy girl with bottom ratios ???? I'm not anything but me ❤️ And I'm SO proud to be me! No one can be me better than I can and a side by side photo like this doesn't show you how kind I am, how much I have grown, how hard working I have become, how much I love my friends, family and now myself, it's just my body existing in a different way ????⌛️???? I'm ok with me. Hope you're ok with you too. #beforeandafter #STILLDOPE #beyourownhero #staygrateful #selflovebootcamp #bodylove #bodyacceptance

One commenter shared: “I’ve actually been having a couple rough whyismybumsoflat days and this was just the right kick in the butt (pun intended) that I needed! Thank you for sharing.”

“This is AWESOME!” another woman wrote. “We get so caught up in the illusion. Thank you!”

“Thank you, Kenzie for being an inspiration for girls out there. I know recovery is hard and I know the pressure to be that someone for everyone has got to be harder. You’re doing great,” another user commented. “I struggle with my body image, too. But our bodies are not the significant part playing a huge role in this world. It is the transportation unit to the part of us playing that role and it’s important to let go of the small stuff as we humans are small compared to the larger scheme of things. Keep being real, and keep being absolutely beautiful.”

Being real is a huge part of Brenna’s platform. She told Yahoo Canada that she posts these types of messages as she wants all bodies represented in the media, to make the world a safer place for all body types.
