Brittany and Patrick Mahomes have undeniably become one of the most visible couples in sports.
The two met in high school, and today they have two children: a daughter named Sterling Skye Mahomes and a son named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III. Patrick Mahomes is a quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, not to mention a two-time Super Bowl champion, and Brittany Mahomes is so much more than a WAG. She boasts a storied career of her own as a former soccer player and present-day owner of the KC Current, a women's soccer team.
Here's everything we know about their 12-year love story, and how the happy couple went from teenage sweethearts to NFL royalty, with the newest developments first.
July 12, 2023: Patrick and Brittany attend the 2023 ESPY Awards together. After walking the red carpet, the quarterback snags two ESPYs for best NFL player as well as best athlete in the men's sports category.
“I want to thank my family—Brittany, Bronze, Sterling—I'm glad that all that hard work is paying off,” the NFL star says during his acceptance speech. “When I'm not in the building, y'all are supporting me and making me the man that I am.”

One of the best weeks of my life, marrying your best friend it’s one of the greatest things you could do!” Brittany writes in a tribute to Patrick on Instagram. “Nothing beats doing life with you and these beautiful kiddos of ours! Year 1 was wild but we got many more to go. You & Me forever.”
February 2023: The Chiefs win Super Bowl LVII over the Philadelphia Eagles. The win makes Patrick a two-time Super Bowl champion. “MY BABY DID IT!!!!!” Brittany tweets afterward. “Patrick and his teammates are DAWGSSSS.”

March 12, 2022: The couple say “I do” in Maui. Brittany Mahomes wears a custom Versace dress, according to People, while Patrick wears a gray suit with black loafers with a smattering of crystals.
Sterling, then one, served as her parents' flower girl, naturally! After the nuptials, the newlyweds take off to honeymoon in St. Barts.
February 2021: Brittany gives birth to Sterling, the couple's first child. The new mom marks the milestone on Instagram with a sweet self-portrait.
February 2019: Valentine's Day puppies are kind of their thing. Three years after adopting their first pup, Steel, on the holiday, the couple got a new puppy named Silver.
May 2017: Brittany graduates from college, after which she plays one season of professional women's soccer in Iceland.

May 2013: Brittany's senior prom. Hey, we told you this was going to be an in-depth timeline!
April 1, 2012: The couple first start dating. That's what we can gather, anyway, by a deep dive on Brittany's Instagram. On July 1 of that year, Brittany posted on Instagram “3 months with the best guy I could ask for!” So if this isn't their actual real anniversary, it's a pretty close guess.
February 2012: Brittany and Patrick meet in middle school but don't start dating until high school. “We kinda met in seventh, eighth grade,” Patrick would reveal of their early years in the 2023 Netflix docuseries Quarterback. “She was the grade above me. I was kind of the best friend, in the friend zone forever.”
Patrick finally managed to exit the friend zone when he gifted Brittany a rose on Valentine’s Day during his sophomore year of high school. “He thought it was a joke,” Brittany would recall in the docuseries. “I thought it was the cutest thing in the world. And then everyone at our lunch table started chanting, ‘Kiss him, kiss him,’ and made it really awkward cause we were ‘just friends,’ so that’s kind of what started it and then I thought it was cute.”
If you're wondering, both of them were 16 at the time. Here's another throwback photo, just before they started dating. We can't even!
