With all the news swirling around the royal family the past few weeks, Buckingham Palace assured royal watchers that reports of King Charles's death — which can be traced back to a Russian news organization — are overblown and that the 75-year-old monarch is indeed alive and well. According to the New York Post, Buckingham Palace issued a statement after an “announcement” from Russian media stated that Charles had passed away.
“We are happy to confirm that The King is continuing with official and private business,” the palace shared in a statement to the Russian state-run TASS news agency. The original report out of Russia stated that the royal communications team had shared a statement that read: "The following announcement is made by royal communications. The King passed away unexpectedly yesterday afternoon."
According to Us, news outlets worldwide are prepping for major news out of the palace after the BBC shared that it is preparing for a major announcement from the royal family.

Charles is currently receiving treatment for cancer after Buckingham Palace announced that he was diagnosed back on Feb. 5. The cancer was found when Charles was undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate. Omid Scobie confirmed that the king does not have prostate cancer.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties,” the palace shared last month. “Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”
After he was discharged from the hospital, Charles shared a heartfelt message to his medical team and the public, who had expressed well-wishes for him as he recovered.
“I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days,” he said on Feb. 10. “As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”
