Burger King Just Brought Back a Fan Favorite After a 12 Year Hiatus

But it won't be easy to find.

These days, fast food restaurants seem to release new menu items at lightning speed, but that wasn’t always the case. 25 years ago, new menu items dropped only a few times a year. However, this month alone, Burger King has introduced several new items.

Last week, it was Pickle Fries, fry-sized pickles that have been battered, deep-fried, and served with a ranch dipping sauce. The week prior, BK added not one but three new Whoppers to its menu: a Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, a Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, and a Mexican Street Corn Whopper. The fact that all these new menu items have come along in the span of two weeks seems par for the course these days.

Back in 1998, though, a new menu item was a huge deal. That’s when Burger King added a new sweet treat, Cini Minis, to the menu. The super-popular miniature cinnamon buns have been missing from BK menus for 12 years—save for a brief appearance in 2018 when they were a GrubHub-exclusive—and fans want them back.

In fact, they were so popular that one fan started a Change.org petition demanding Cini Minis’ return, and begging Burger King to satiate their cravings for the treat. Well, we’ve officially got an update that the 6,000+ fans who signed the petition are going to want to hear.

There’s good news for some miniature cinnamon bun lovers: Burger King has brought back the Cini Minis as a 4-pack for just $2.49. But that good news is not for everybody. If you live in Miami or Fort Lauderdale, Florida, you’ll be able to experience the joy of popping sweet Cini Minis in your mouth after dipping them in that irresistibly thick vanilla icing.

Sadly, though, it’s only those two Florida Burger King locations that have them—for now. While there’s been no official announcement, fast food restaurants frequently re-release old faves in certain markets as a test. (Florida BK fans—we’re counting on you!) If the Cini Minis do really well, maybe, just maybe, BK will bring them back nationwide.

Perhaps someone should start a petition. Oh, wait, they already did.
