From Good Housekeeping

Back when low-rise jeans were all the rage, trendy gals had to contend with an unfortunate side-effect: squatting down or bending forward in any way meant showing the world at least an inch or two of butt crack. Those of us who don't dig the plumber look rejoiced when mid- and high-rise jeans started flooding the market.

Well, there's good news for anyone who misses flashing a little crackage but enjoys a higher rise: these ASOS High Waisted Straight Leg Jeans with Open Back exist.

By "open back" they clearly mean "lower back window with a seam that evokes the intergluteal cleft" (that's the fancy medical term for "butt crack"). And let's be honest: that window dips low enough to expose the real thing when the wearer moves a certain way.

But at $60, they're a steal! Especially considering the belt is included.

ASOS is, of course, not the first to sell a denim design that makes little sense to shoppers. Check out these other unusual jeans.

Like the look of bikini bottoms peeking out from under low-rise jeans but hate wasting those perfectly good bikini bottoms on your outfit when you're not going swimming that day? (Or wearing wet bikini bottoms under jeans - ugh, the worst!) These Asian imports save you the trouble of layering by crafting the illusion of a bikini bottom out of denim conveniently attached to the jeans.

You gotta love a good pair of of ripped jeans, but filling in all the rips with chains? This just looks painful, so more power to you if you can pull them off.

Ultimately, we can't judge anyone's personal style. After all, these plastic-kneed Topshop jeans are completely sold out and have a five-star rating.
