Florida house hunters who’ve had a tough time finding the right home in a tight market have some good and bad news heading into 2025. On the upside, Florida’s number of homes for sale in October 2024 rose 21% from the prior year, to 189,221, according to Redfin. On the downside, the number of newly listed homes fell about 15%, to 37,804.

With the state’s population continuing to rapidly expand, you can expect heated competition for homes in the most desirable areas — including those that cater to families. If you’re in search of a family-friendly neighborhood in Florida, you’ll find decent choices in just about all corners of the state, according to a recent study from SquareFootHomes, a real estate listing platform.

The study, published in July, analyzed 90 different neighborhoods in cities and towns across Florida, using metrics from multiple sources to determine the best family-friendly neighborhoods. Neighborhoods were ranked according to five main categories: livability/affordability, education/healthcare, recreation/leisure, family convenience and economic stability/employment.

Here are Florida’s 10 most family-friendly neighborhoods.

North Miami Beach
