We love our cheese. Whether sprinkled on top of garlicky pasta or melted into a delicious gooey casserole, there’s just something about the creamy, rich flavor that seems to add character to any meal. Creameries work hard to maintain their high quality and provide us with a range of great-tasting products, so it’s only fitting that all that hard work is recognized.

Every year, brands have multiple opportunities to compete and take home coveted best-in-class titles. Earlier this year, Philadelphia Cream Cheese was recognized for its quality, and Tillamook was awarded at both the World Champion Cheese Contest and the International Cheese and Dairy Awards.

Now, Vermont-based brand Cabot Creamery is celebrating its cheese after winning three new titles in a recent competition.

Cabot Creamery’s Award-Winning Cheese

Multiple Cabot Creamery cheese varieties took home the top prize at the American Cheese Society (ACS) annual conference. According to an ACS press release, the conference took place in Buffalo, New York, and included over 1,000 dairy professionals. The four-day event included education events, tastings, and a competition where cheese brands could compete in multiple categories for a chance to be named the best.

Cabot was awarded first place in the American Originals category for cow’s milk Monterey Jack. The brand also earned two first-place awards for its Cheddar cheese. Cabot’s Extra Sharp Cheddar placed in the cow’s milk Cheddar aged through 12 months category, and Cabot White Oak Cheddar placed in the sweet Cheddar category.

"We are incredibly proud to see our cheese and butter at the top of the winners' lists in these competitions,” said Jason Martin, senior vice president of operations, in a recent press release. “These achievements belong to our entire team, from the farmers who supply the milk, to our dedicated production crew, and our diligent supply chain employees. Their care and craftsmanship are the true foundation of our success."

And those aren’t the only awards the Cabot took home. Its salted butter also earned first place, which is no surprise considering how even chefs like Ina Garten are devoted fans. In addition, the brand won multiple second-place awards for its Alpine and New York Sharp Cheddar.

So, the next time you head to the grocery store, consider grabbing a few blocks of Cabot’s award-winning cheeses to taste the winning flavors for yourself.
