Camila Cabello is having fun with uniform dressing. The musician just put a fun, cheeky twist on schoolgirl style in a pleated miniskirt and tie outfit.
Cabello's schoolgirl-chic outfit popped up in an Instagram carousel about her new partnership with the prebiotic soda brand Olipop, in which she recently invested. In the photos, the singer wears a short, pleated gray skirt similar to those worn by private school students — or Britney Spears in the “Baby One More Time” video — with a white Oxford shirt tucked in and buttoned all the way to the top.

And Cabello didn't stop there; she went even deeper into the school uniform canon and added a blue plaid tie, which just so happened to match her baby blue phone case. Granted, her outfit was from Vivienne Westwood, not a uniform supply shop, but that's what happens when you're a megafamous singer! Instead of knee socks and loafers, Cabello styled her “uniform” with chunky black shoes. She wore her hair down and skipped a matching manicure in favor of naked (or nearly naked) nails.

The oversized, ‘80s-style suit has been worn by everyone from Hailey Bieber to Doechii to Rosé. (Rosé and Bieber are both Saint Laurent ambassadors, and the French fashion house is all about the suit these days.)
Luckily, you don’t have to spend tons of cash on a similar look; pleated skirts and trousers, button-down shirts, and jackets are all readily available at your local thrift store, especially if you enlist the help of a tailor. Just don't forget the tie! As Cabello's outfit proves, it's an essential part of the look.
