Camper Teamed Up With INEOS Britannia to Create New Shoes for the America’s Cup

Camper wants to help you walk in a sailor’s shoes.

The Spanish footwear brand has joined forces with INEOS Britannia to create a collection of shoes for the upcoming America’s Cup. The limited-edition kicks will be worn by the British sailing team, but can also be donned by regular folks.

Camper was founded on the island of Mallorca in Spain in 1975. The family business still designs and develops shoes in the small town of Inca, combining decades of shoemaking experience with a modern, inventive spirit. The newest collection includes four innovative, technical styles created with sailors in mind. Priced from $120 to $225 a pop, the performance-driven shoes are outfitted for stints on the high seas. Each pair showcases hardwearing sustainable materials and classic silhouettes.

Created for captains, the Path is a lightweight sneaker with a barefoot feel. The mesh uppers and recycled rubber outsole ensure ample traction, support, and water drainage, ensuring the kicks dry quickly after any ocean spray. The CRCLR sneaker and boot are equally easy to dry, with an exterior made from 100 percent recycled PET textiles and non-absorbent padding. The EVA plastic outsole provides plenty of grip, too.

There are also styles for those on dry ground. The Drift Trail is a flexible performance sneaker designed for the off-water crew. The cushioned kicks feature an upper made of leather and 100 percent recycled synthetic textiles plus a Vibram rubber outsole that ensures extraordinary grip. Another off-duty design is the unisex Match. The easy-fit sandal combines 100 percent recycled PET webbing with a featherlight EVA plastic and rubber outsole that prevents slipping.

To celebrate its partnership with INEOS Britannia, Camper is raffling off two tickets to watch the team race at the Louis Vuitton Cup on August 31 and a weekend for two at Casa Camper Barcelona on August 30 and 31.

INEOS Britannia is one of five teams set to battle it out in the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Series from August 29 to October 7. The winning team will advance to face off against defender Emirates Team New Zealand in the 37th America’s Cup from October 12 to 27. After losing the first Cup in 1851, Britain has never won it back. Perhaps the Camper kicks will bring the Brits some luck and they can finally bring the “Auld Mug” home to the U.K.
