Congratulations are in order for Canadian NHL player Tyler Seguin: The centre and alternate captain for the Dallas Stars and his wife, Kate, are officially parents! On Wednesday, the couple shared a joint post on Instagram announcing the birth of their first child along with photos of themselves happily leaving the hospital as a family of three.

"Our family has grown by 10 little fingers and toes," their post, geotagged to Dallas, Texas, read. "Wren Katherine Seguin was born at 7 lb 1 oz on Jan. 16 at 7:41 a.m. Tyler and I are in utter bliss experiencing this new chapter with our baby girl."

The announcement earned well wishes from friends, family and fans who congratulated the pair for the arrival of their first child.

"Sweet baby Wren. You are so loved already," Brittany Wedgwood, wife of Colorado Avalanche player Scott Wedgewood, said. "Welcome to the best chapter of your lives."

"Welcome to the world, sweet girl," wrote Jules Petry, who's married to Detroit Red Wings player Jeff Petry.

"Absolute perfection," someone wrote. "Congratulations to you both."

"Dying," a friend quipped. "Love you guys and sweet Wren so much already. So happy for your family."

In a separate post, the couple shared photos of their three dogs meeting baby Wren for the first time.

"Seguin family, party of six!" the pair captioned that joint post. "Gerry, Cash and Marshall are so excited about their baby sister."

The Seguins first shared the happy news that they were expecting in July 2024, with a sweet video that featured ultrasound photos as well as their beloved dogs.

"Half of you and half of me. Baby Seguin arriving January 2025," their caption read, alongside the hashtag "#babyseggy."

"The world's most beautiful baby about to be! Tyler’s sister, Candace Seguin, penned on that post, adding, "Give me the little nugget" in another comment.

"Can't wait to love (and spoil) this baby!" Alexis Marchment, wife of Canadian forward Mason Marchment, added.

Tyler and Kate tied the knot in July 2023 during an elaborate wedding held in the Bahamas.

"It gives you that peace, coming home, just that peace, having someone there at all times, someone that you care about and adore," Tyler told reporters in September 2023. "It helps you focus on work a lot easier and there's not as much distractions, so I'm excited for this year on and off the ice."

Although it's unclear how the pair met, the couple became engaged during a 2022 trip to Santorini, Greece. Tyler shared photos from the dreamy engagement that included him embracing Kate in a romantic kiss and a short video from the day.

"The story of our night," he began in that post's caption. "And the beginning of forever. I can't wait to make you my wife."
