Happy August, Cancer. During July, the opulent Leo season may have brought welcome financial news or at least encouraged you to sit down and make a budget. For the following few weeks, allow extra travel time, expect communication mishaps, and beware of internet outages. However, frankly, the start of Mercury retrograde is the least interesting thing about this busy day! There's also a dark new moon, the time of new beginnings, in your opulent 2nd House. Cancers are ultra-creative signs. You likely have a novel that you've been thinking about or the desire to start a band. This lunation gives you a push to go ahead and do so. The stars are in your favor. Additionally, lush Venus moves into your 3rd House on this date, which rules communication, further aiding you in your creative dreams.
While July was pretty hustle-bustle and this month encourages your creativity, rest is also crucial. On Wednesday, August 14, Mercury retrograde moves into your 2nd House, which, when read pessimistically, could mean that work slows down. Try to crawl out of your crab shell and smell the flowers. Every “bad” cosmic occurrence is also an opportunity. See this slow down as a chance to rest and prioritize your health.
If you're dating, beware that there's a wild full moon in your sexy 8th House on Monday, August 19. This could indicate a passionate night with a partner or just a call to treat yourself to a sex toy. However, full moons can leave tempers high. Passionate can be fun, but it can also be exhausting. People mistake Cancers for cute, sweet little things, but you have pinchers. Think before you use them, especially during a wild full moon while Mercury is retrograde.

When the sun moves into bustling Virgo season on Thursday, August 22, a few things happen. First, your creative urges continue to soar. While you should make time for rest during August, make sure to also carve out time for your hobbies. It may be helpful to act like a Virgo and make use of a schedule and to-do lists this month. Write down what you have to do for work, whether you're a stay-at-home parent or have a 9-5, but also write down tasks that are just for you and prioritize them as you would anything else. When Ceres, the asteroid of nurturance, ends its retrograde and goes direct in your 7th House of Partnership on Monday, August 26, you may have to fight some people-pleasing tendencies. While this shift is generally favorable, it leaves you wanting to nurture everyone you love. This is lovely, but you should continue to hold boundaries so that these efforts don't happen at your detriment. Communicating your own needs to others becomes much easier when Mercury ends its retrograde and goes direct on Wednesday, August 28.
Finally, the month ends on a romantic note, which, is also wonderful for friendships, when pretty Libra moves into its home sign of Libra and activities your 4th House of Home and Family, on Thursday, August 29. This could see relationships becoming more serious, more intimate, and all together healthier and happier.
