Cardi B Dyed Her Natural Hair Red

Cardi B was ready for a change. The Grammy-winning rapper is constantly switching up her look with wigs in every shade of the rainbow, but she recently made a more permanent change—and gave us a peek at how long her natural hair has gotten!

Cardi documented the process in a cute Instagram Reel, saying in a voiceover that it had taken three hours to take her braids out, then an hour to wash her hair the night before the appointment. She headed to Brooklyn to work with stylist Dinah Lefranc at Coiffed 220 salon, who first lifted her hair to a dark copper shade, which Cardi loved; it also brought some curls out to play, though Cardi noted that her natural hair doesn't have a lot of curl.

However, that wasn't the end of her color story! After the lifting process, Lefranc applied a cherry-auburn red shade to Cardi's hair— and it's safe to say the rapper was thrilled. “Me and Dinah was loving the color! Look how beautiful I look," she said in the video.

The color was a total “Wow!” moment, but so is the length. Cardi's hair is so long it brushes the waistband of her jeans. “My hair has been so f**king healthy,” Cardi shared in the video. We know she loves to DIY hair masks and treatments at home, like the avocado-based masks she makes for herself and her daughter Kulture and the onion water she uses to wash her hair. “I've been putting these oils that I made in my house.” However, some of her at-home hair care experiments work better than others. “One time I put garlic on my hair and my hair stank for eight months,” she recounted. Regardless of the garlic aroma, fans were begging her to drop the recipe for her homemade hair oils and urging her to start her own hair care line.

Cardi's red hair era has officially begun, and she couldn't be happier about it; she even starts singing at the end of the video. “Look at the end result! I look like a bad bitch from the Bronx!” Truer words have never been spoken.
