When it comes to red carpet appearances, celebrities are known to pull out all the stops in order to look their very best.

Ahead of hitting the red carpet turn at the 93rd Academy Awards in her stunning gold Valentino gown, Carey Mulligan settled in with her glam squad for hours of pampering.

The "Promising Young Woman" star and Best Actress nominee was primed and prepped ahead of the awards ceremony by her go-to makeup artist, Georgie Eisdell.

"Before every red carpet we mask," Eisdell captioned her photo of the futuristic-looking mask amongst Chanel makeup products. "CurrentBody LED mask Smooths, Calms and Firms. I cannot live without out it. I made sure we got a little 15 minute relaxation and skin love this morning with Carey before we started glam."

What is it?

The silicone face mask is reported to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improve skin’s tone, texture and firmness in just four weeks.

Using the power of anti-aging red light and near infra-red light therapy, it stimulates the skin’s natural rejuvenation process, creating a complexion that is visibly glowing and noticeably healthier looking.

Along with Mulligan, other famous fans of the brand include Kaley Cuoco, Renee Zellweger, Gal Gadot, and model Suki Waterhouse.

“This mask is brilliant, it's so easy to use and very comfortable due to it being made of silicone, unlike the hard LED masks. I've only been using it for three weeks now, but my skin looks fresher and absorbs my creams more easily when applied after using,” reads one five-star review.

“I am obsessed with this product. I've been seeing so many before and after photos of others and seeing all the stars using this Infrared LED pad,” reads another. “I have to say I am impressed. It's very relaxing to use.”

The verdict

The only downside to this mask seems to be that it sometimes slips down your face while in use, and can require some adjustments in order to ensure that it stays securely in place.

If you’re looking to upgrade your skincare routine, the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask is certainly a splurge, but according to its legions of fans it’s definitely worth the investment - especially when you can score it on sale.
