Carrie Underwood shows off baby bump at CMT Artists of the Year

It was all about girl power at the 2018 CMT Artists of the Year event in Nashville.

For the first time, all of the honourees at the annual televised event were women, recognizing the accomplishments of some of the biggest names in country music, including Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris and Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman.

The shining star of the night was Underwood, who showed off her growing baby bump in two sequin minidresses. Underwood received the final honour of the night, and took the stage to perform a medley of country classics including, “Stand by Your Man” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” with her tour mates, Maddie & Tae and Runaway June. The 35-year-old closed out her performance with her smash hit “Cry Pretty.”

Country music legend Loretta Lynn was named the CMT Artist of the Lifetime. Due to a stroke in 2017, Lynn was unable to attend, but the award was accepted in her absence by Sissy Spacek, who portrayed the singer in the 1980s film “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”
