Are you hoping to spruce up your space? We are partnering with a major home brand to give a few lucky readers a full-room makeover. Does your bedroom look bland? Dorm room feel dull? Living room a little lackluster? If you live in NYC, Chicago, or LA and have a space that needs some help, we want to hear from you!
We are searching for three readers who would like Apartment Therapy’s design experts to make over one room of their homes, top to bottom. Our team will select furniture and decor for your new space, and we will document the transition in a photo shoot to be published on Apartment Therapy. (You will not be on camera.)
If selected, you’ll receive a full suite of new decor and furniture for one of these spaces in your home provided by our brand sponsor. And you get to keep all the pieces from your new look!
Project Overview
You can expect the project to take around three weeks to complete:
2 weeks for accepting packages/deliveries. Please be prepared to store a LARGE delivery of furniture and decor items
2–3 days for the styling team to unpack and set up
1 day for the “After” shoot, shot by professionals
All contractors — including stylists and photographers — will be professionals
We will work with you to find a mutually convenient time to execute our projects; tentative timelines listed below

Each of our makeovers will be assigned one of these three timelines:
Timeline A — Priority Space(s): Bedroom, Kitchen/Dining Room, Living Room, Entryway
Product Delivery Window: 2/26/25 – 3/12/25
Styling/Prep: week of 3/17/25
Shoot Window: week of 3/17/25
Timeline B — Priority Space(s): College Apartment/Studio Apartment/Home Office
Product Delivery Window: 5/30/25 – 6/13/25
Styling/Prep: week of 6/23/25
Shoot Window: week of 6/23/25
Timeline C — Priority Space(s): Bedroom, Kitchen/Dining Room, Living Room, Entryway
Product Delivery Window: 9/2/25 – 9/16/25
Prep/Styling: week of 9/22/25
Shoot Window: week of 9/22/25
Casting Requirements
All applicants must be 18 years of age or older
Must live in NYC, Chicago, or LA
You will be responsible for clearing the featured areas of existing furniture and decor before the project begins and sending photos of the space while empty, which we may use in our content
You must be able to receive and store all packages for the makeover
While we do our best to take your style choices into account, you will not have the final say in the selected product for your home
Must be available for up to 12 hours on the shoot day and open your home to our professional crew
You will not be on camera
Must be willing to answer a few questions via email after the makeovers so we can quote you in our content
