Boots was first introduced to the brand and founders Jessy Shenfeld and Stephanie Stoikos a little over a year ago. After trying the product, Boots was sold. Now he takes four scoops in his smoothie daily — two scoops of chocolate and two scoops of vanilla, totaling 12 grams of bovine colostrum and eight grams of protein. Each scoop of Cowboy Colostrum contains three grams of bovine colostrum, compared to many other brands on the market that contain about one gram per serving.
“I tried it for two months, and I instantly felt the difference,” he said. “I felt the difference in my hair. My skin was glowing. My nails were stronger than ever.”
While Boots felt these benefits, and many more including boosted gut health, it was how it applied to his fitness routine that resonated most.
“The most beneficial thing for my life was the feeling of muscle recovery because I do Torch’d every day, oftentimes multiple times a day,” he said, adding that, like Torch’d, taking Cowboy Colostrum can be a quick and enjoyable ritual.
Colostrum has been gaining traction over the past year as customers and brands tout the many benefits of the ingredient, which is a mammal’s first milk post-birth — the most common benefit associated with the ingredient is gut health, though overall immunity and beauty benefits are also reported. Cowboy Colostrum is sourced from the United States from a surplus of the ingredient left after baby grass-fed cows are finished feeding.
While the ingredient has gained some buzz, there still is consumer confusion around what it does and what exactly it is. That’s where Boots comes in for Cowboy Colostrum — his main role is getting the word out there about the brand.
“When I post a story about it or post a link, I get a lot of questions and I’m happy to sort of share the gospel of it,” he said, noting that he’s been sharing the product with his private clients as well.
Boots added: “What [my followers have] really responded to was any of my talking videos where I sort of have a cowboy accent. I have to lean into that… People loved Christmas time and Thanksgiving, where I made Cowboy Colostrum whipped cream.”
While Cowboy Colostrum most recently launched its new chocolate flavor, Boots said there is more innovation to come this year.
