On many more than one occasion, I've looked at Chappell Roan and thought, Damn, I want that hair color. She has solidified her status as one of the most iconic auburnettes (not a word but go with it), no doubt inspiring plenty of people besides me to dye their hair a deep yet vibrant shade of brownish red. But, like a fool, I didn't realize until now that her hair color would also make for an amazing lipstick color. Thankfully, Roan helped me see the light with the matchy-matchy look she just wore.

The singer-songwriter performed and sat on a panel at Los Angeles's Grammy Museum on Thursday, November 7, wearing a gray three-piece suit—a pivot from her often camp costumes. Her makeup was also relatively subtle compared to most of her onstage and red carpet looks, featuring icy, shimmery shadow and lush lashes.

The standout element of the look, in my humble opinion, is Roan's satiny, opaque lip color. The dark brick-red shade is beyond perfect for fall, but what makes it really interesting is how perfectly it matches her long, curls.

I realize that it may not be super realistic to announce that matching your lipstick to your hair will be a big trend (I don't think many brands are making, say, blonde lip colors), but it is super realistic to steer you in the direction of auburn lipstick.

For a more muted take on the look, we love Allure Best of Beauty Award-winning Merit Signature Lip Matte in the shade Equestrian. We also love MAC Locked Kiss 24HR Lipstick in Sophistry, and for a more affordable, less matte option, there's Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Rumberry.
