Charlotte Realtor to be featured in upcoming episode of ‘House Hunters’ on HGTV
When she became a Realtor, a former Charlotte teacher dreamt of being on HGTV. Now several years later, she is finally getting to showcase her skills on “House Hunters.”
As Tiffany Sears, CEO and Broker in Charge of The Sears Group, explains it — she got into real estate by accident. Having started out teaching at Mallard Creek Elementary School and later Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy, she had no intention of ever doing anything in the industry.
But an interesting meeting she attended on a whim with a relative led her to a seven-year career as a Realtor at her independent brokerage licensed in the Carolinas and Georgia.
“I fell in love with helping people … It’s just been such a pleasure to help other people find a place that they can call home,” Sears told CharlotteFive.
As part of season 254 of the hit reality show, the longtime HGTV fan will be doing just that for one of her clients searching for her first home in the city “who is looking for something contemporary that fits her bougie taste, but in a hot market, what she wants and what she can afford may not match up,” according to the episode summary.
‘Bougie in Charlotte’
“When I got into real estate one of the goals I put on myself was, at some point, I’m going to be on ‘House Hunters.’ I really wasn’t sure how that was gonna happen but that was a goal,” she explained.
After doing some research and applying to be on the show, she says they went through the process of looking at homes during a five day stretch of filming, from sun up to sun down.
“Having never done anything like this before — my client, Shelby Holland, had not either — we weren’t really sure what to expect going in,” Sears said.
Given that she’d already known Holland when she sought out to seek another property years prior that fell through, “it was really easy for [them] to dive into the process together.”
“It’s an honor to be on the show but my primary focus is always going to be on making sure my clients have unbelievable service and I’m doing everything I can for them,” Sears said.
“I think being on ‘House Hunters’ was just the cherry on top.”
Sears’ episode of the hit home reality show will air on HGTV on Friday, January 17th at 10:30 p.m.
