The March 20 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter follows the couple as they visit a fertility specialist after nearly seven months of trying to get pregnant without success. The couple are already parents to son Ace, 3½. Cheyenne is also mom to daughter Ryder, 7, whom she shares with Cory Wharton.
After discussing their health history, their doctor recommends that they each undergo testing.
The results reveal that Cheyenne's egg supply is good, as is Zach's sperm supply. However, the sperm "weren't swimming."

"When we have abnormal semen, step one is, is there something we can figure out that's abnormal? If someone's smoking a lot of marijuana, we're going to want them to stop that because it's toxic for sperm," the doctor explains.
Zach groans as Cheyenne glances at him. The doctor continues, "If a repeat anaylsis doesn't do it, three months of no marijuana doesn't do it, then we talk about inseminations or in vitro."
When they leave, Cheyenne asks if Zach's willing to refrain from smoking while they figure this out. He's willing, though he admits he's surprised that would have an impact on their fertility equation.
In a confessional, Cheyenne applauds Zach's willingness to go through this process. "I feel like, as women, we always this, 'It's me. My body's not allowing me to get pregnant. It must be me,' but it does take two people. So I appreciated Zach from the beginning even saying, 'Okay, I'll get checked too, because it does take both of us. It could be me.'"
"Now it's on him to make certain lifestyle choices and decisions that he's going to have to commit to in order for us to have another child," she concludes.
Teen Mom: The Next Chapter airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
