Christopher Michael’s ‘What’s Contemporary Now?’ Podcast Unveils Third Season With Guests Mel Ottenberg, Willy Vanderperre, Ruba Abu-Nimah and More

“What’s Contemporary Now” has unveiled the launch of its third season. The podcast, which is hosted by Christopher Michael and produced by Shayan Asadi, is slated to return with a number of high-profile guests across the fashion, tech and beauty industries.

“On this show, we have the opportunity to discuss culture with creative minds whose work helps shape the landscape. We have the privilege of hearing unique perspectives while also discovering common threads in today’s human experience. It’s fun, it’s interesting, and it’s an absolute gift,” Michael told WWD.

Michael launched “What’s Contemporary” as a digital platform in 2011 and has since transformed and expanded it into the podcast “What’s Contemporary Now?” The podcast unites thought leaders from across industries to discuss topics surrounding culture, career and the overall human experience.

A guest in the upcoming season is Mel Ottenberg, a wardrobe stylist (whose previous clients include Rihanna) and the current editor in chief of Interview magazine.

Nick Knight, Vanessa Friedman, Ruba Abu-Nimah, photographer Willy Vanderperre, Quil Lemons, Thom Bettridge, Lady Amanda Harlech and Robin Galiegue are also set to be featured in the new season.

“After only 27 episodes, we’ve carved out a corner in the conversational space. This new season continues that discourse with masterminds like Nick Knight and new voices like Quil Lemons, recontextualizing old narratives alongside numerous other interview subjects that both reverberate through and resonate with the current zeitgeist,” Michael added in a statement to WWD regarding season three of the podcast.

Past podcast guests include Isamaya Ffrench, Tim Blanks and celebrity stylist Clare Richardson, who most notably has worked with Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie and Karlie Kloss.

The third season of “What’s Contemporary Now?” is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify on Monday.
