Oprah and Meghan Markle's favourite lattes come in a new blend, and I tried it first

What's one thing that Oprah and Meghan Markle have in common? Aside from their humanitarian efforts and worldwide influence across the world of fashion and beauty, the two are also big fans of the superfood latte company Clevr Blends.
Knowing that the drinks are a favourite among the stars, I've previously written about my experience trying out the Clevr Blends SuperLattes and found that they're just as delicious as I'd hoped they would be.
Now, just in time to celebrate Sleep Awareness month this March, the brand has released a new flavour that's billed as "a soothing nightcap infused with sleep-supporting botanicals" — and of course I had to put the new blend to the test.

The details
As Oprah shared on the Oprah Daily site, "My neighbour Meghan (yes, that one) introduced me to this woman-led wellness brand. Not a day goes by without me sipping on the golden latte from this kit, which also comes with chai latte mix and a little frother. You can add the mixes to smoothies for a flavour boost, too."
All Clevr SuperLattes are 100% vegan, have 500 million heat-safe probiotics, no refined sugar, and 1000mg of adaptogens (Ashwagandha, Lion’s Mane and Reishi). Simply add water to the blend of your choice, and you’ve got a delicious drink that’s packed with powerful probiotics, adaptogens and superfood ingredients.
The new bedtime blend contains ingredients like L-Theanine, which helps calm anxiety and quiet racing thoughts, and a trio of calming herbs (passionflower, valerian, and hops) to bring on feelings of calm and gentle drowsiness.
First impressions
Crafted with organic, direct-trade Madagascan vanilla bean, digestion-supporting chicory, and rich coconut cream, I found that the drink almost has a flavour that's similar to a caramel hot chocolate, without being overly sweet. Like the other SuperLattes that I've tried in the past, it has a smooth and creamy consistency and no strange aftertaste that can sometimes come with pre-sweetened drink mixes.
I followed the instructions on the bag and added four ounces of hot water to three tablespoons of the latte mix. I then blended it in a mug with a milk frother before topping it off with an additional four ounces of hot water. All told, each cup only takes me about 30 seconds to assemble.
Once opened, the brand recommends keeping the latte blends in the fridge for optimal freshness. Since each bag has enough for 14 servings, two bags will last me about a month, with each serving ringing in at just $2.43 CAD a cup.

In addition to receiving a royal stamp of approval, Clevr's oat milk lattes have earned thousands of 5-star reviews from shoppers online. Not only have they been praised for their ease and convenience, but also for their subtle energy boost.

Does it live up to the hype?
For the past week or so I've been ending my evening with a cup of the Sleeptime SuperLatte and a book, and it's been a nice ritual that I've enjoyed incorporating into my bedtime routine. While I can't say for sure that it's due to the drinks, I've also been waking up earlier and with more energy that I was previously.
It’s also been a few months since I began incorporating Clevr Blends into my morning routine, and unlike after drinking coffee, I haven’t experienced any of the jitters or anxiety throughout the day that often follow a strong brew.
I’ve tried making both hot and iced lattes and found them to be equally as delicious, with the spicy chai being my all-time favourite of the six flavours. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the earthy turmeric latte, but who am I to deny its proven health benefits?
