Collina Strada and Canada Goose Are Reinventing the Winter Parka
New York-based label Collina Strada has become known for its eclectic and innovative approach to fashion. Whether it's because of the brand's inclusive runway shows, sustainable processes or experimental print designs, it's a firm favorite amongst the fashion crowd and continues to grow.
Now, the label is joining forces with Canada Goose to reinvent its classic Shelburne Parka, fusing its signature design with Collina Strada staples. Crafted with a subtle A-line silhouette, rib knit cuffs and thumbhole details, the new parka arrives in two vibrant prints of "Plaid Maple" and "Basically Floral Print."
Speaking to Hypebae about the collaboration, founder Hillary Taymour tells us, "Our partnership is built on a shared belief by both brands that sustainability and self-expression need to be at the forefront of product design," adding that "We wanted to reimagine the Shelburne Parka in a dramatic, yet sophisticated way, to create an electrifying look for a seasonal statement piece that consumers can feel good about owning."
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, the new pieces were crafted from CloudTH, a new insulation alternative to down, developed with advanced thermal properties. The parka also features a removable cat ear hood trim, as a subtle yet playful nod to the world around us.
We caught up with Taymour to find out more about collaborating with Canada Goose, where Collina Strada gets its inspiration and what the future holds. Scroll down for the full interview.

Tell us a bit about how the collaboration with Canada Goose came about.
Collina Strada is not only a fashion brand, it is a platform for social awareness, making it crucial that any brand partner align with that forward-looking socially responsible ethos. Our partnership is built on a shared belief by both brands that sustainability and self-expression need to be at the forefront of product design. As a brand that is known the world over for its craftsmanship, performance and 'Canadian Warmth,' it felt like a natural fit to partner on this latest initiative that replaces traditional fur hood trims with a more environmentally-conscious accessory that allows consumers to express themselves and feel good about the products they're wearing.
What drew you to the parka silhouette specifically?
We wanted to reimagine the Shelburne Parka in a dramatic, yet sophisticated way, to create an electrifying look for a seasonal statement piece that consumers can feel good about owning. The Shelburne is my favorite parka in the CG lineup. I love how it fits.
Where does your style inspiration in general come from?
Collina Strada is part of a new generation seeking community and sustainability over scale. Our designs are not inspired by any one thing but can be proudly described as maximalism with purpose and decadence with awareness. When you wear the brand, you understand that this item of clothing was made with the best intentions.
As someone who's known for vibrant designs and an out-of-the-box approach to fashion, how do you go about distilling the essence of Collina Strada when working on a brand collaboration? What are the CS signatures that a collab must have for you?
Our signature is to strive to create eco-friendly products that allow consumers to have fun with self-expression in a unique way, whilst always prioritizing community and sustainability over scale. Collina is known for our prints and integrating them into this collaboration was extremely important for me, I love how it was executed.
How would you style the collaboration?
Worn over pants and layered with your favorite hoodie. This jacket is definitely giving "stay warm out there kids!"
Finally, what's next for you? Anything exciting coming up this year that you might be able to share with us?
I'm currently working on our February runway show that will take place in New York on the 9th. I'm very excited to see it all come together.
