Color Wow's New Curl Products Are About to Go Viral

When it comes to science-backed, innovative haircare, Color Wow reigns. The brand has some major hits, like the TikTok-viral Dream Coat and Root Cover Up powder. Now, the celeb-favorite haircare brand is introducing a range of products designed specifically to transform curls.
The Color Wow Curl Wow collection, which is available to shop today, is designed to add serious shine and bounce to natural curls—without weighing them down. The line consists of a pre-shampoo treatment to prevent snags and knots, shampoo, conditioner, a serum, and a bi-phase leave-in spray.
“With Curl Wow, there’s no weight, no greasy feel, no stiffness, or stickiness,” celebrity hairstylist and Color Wow ambassador Kendall Dorsey tells BAZAAR.com. “It gives me control, especially with natural textures, yet the hair is touchable, soft. Clients can actually feel the natural movement of their hair throughout the day.”
Curl Wow utilizes the brand’s new “Naked Technology,” which contains a proprietary Profaxil-18 Complex that works to break down the size of oil molecules so it can penetrate the hair more deeply. The result: glossy, frizz-free hair with all the benefits of oil and none of the weight.
“The oils in the Curl Wow line will not lay on the surface or pool up in the twists and turns of the strand like oil does in traditional curl products,” Dr. Joe Cincotta, the brand’s chief chemist, says.
Not only is this new technology in the Curl Wow line, but it’s being rolled out into all leave-in products from the brand, from leave-in conditioners to serums to styling sprays.
“Not only is this great after a wash, but the Naked Technology provides slip in the hair all the way until your next wash, which means less tangles and snags when brushing the hair,” Dorsey adds.
The Profaxil-18 complex also contains a lipid called 18-MEA, which is naturally on the outer layer of healthy, virgin hair. “As the oils penetrate, the 18-MEA rises to the surface of each strand forming a tight, transparent sheath,” Cincotta explains. “This microscopic cover traps in the moisturizers and creates a smooth, glossy surface that feels dry (not greasy) to the touch.
