Your complete guide to the 2025 BAFTAs
The 2025 EE British Academy of Film and Television Awards, commonly known as the BAFTAs, are just round the corner. Celebrating the very best in cinema in the UK and beyond, we can expect the ceremony to be as glitzy and glamorous as usual, as the A-List descend on London's Royal Festival Hall.
BAFTA wins tend to be precursors of who will be taking the top prize at the Oscars, with this year's offerings an open race.
However, the BAFTAs come at a particularly difficult time for the industry, with this awards season looking decidedly different compared to previous years. While the Golden Globes were able to go ahead as planned, organisers of several other US awards ceremonies, including the Academy Awards, have decided to push back their nomination announcements and ceremonies, or hold more pared-back events, due to the ongoing wildfires raging in Los Angeles.
Here's what we can expect from this year's ceremony.
When is the BAFTA Film Awards?
The awards ceremony will take place on 16 February 2025 at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
Who is the host of the BAFTA Film Awards?
David Tennant, who also hosted last year's awards, will be at the helm once more for 2025.
Who are nominees for the BAFTA Film Awards?
Papal drama Conclave, starring Ralph Fiennes, leads the pack with 12 nominations. Elsewhere, Emilia Pérez, which won big at the Golden Globes earlier this year, has 11 nods.
The Brutalist, an epic drama starring Adrien Brody as a Hungarian architect, has nine nominations, while Wicked, Anora, and Dune: Part Two have seven nods each.
Timothée Chalamet's Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown scored six nods alongside Irish film Kneecap, while Nosferatu and The Substance scored five nods apiece.
