According to Deadline, Wells' character will be called Joy and she is joining as a 'season regular.' While little is known for sure about Joy, it's been claimed that Miranda's love interest 'loves greyhounds more than children'.
Miranda's heart was left in shatters at the end of the sophomore season when comedian and Carrie's podcast co-star Che Diaz (played by Grey's Anatomy's Sara Ramírez) ended their romance in episode six. The pair's romance gained momentum following Miranda's divorce from long-time husband Steve (David Eigenberg) with Miranda briefly relocating to Los Angeles to be with Diaz while they filmed a comedy pilot.
It seems that the third season of AJLT will see several of its core characters undergo emotional upheavals. In recent weeks, it's been teased that Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) will make a return for the third series of the Sex and the City sequel.
It is widely believed, following the success of her cameo in the second season, that Cattrall has signed on to reprise her role of Jones for the sequel's third outing.
'Since they’ve paved the way for Samantha to come back, it’s assumed that they’ve done a deal with Kim and they’re just waiting for the right time to announce it,' an insider told Life & Style on July 10. 'The word is that she’ll get to do all her scenes in London. They’ll be bending over backwards to pay her an absolute fortune, and it’s all on her terms because she’s so central to the franchise.'
