This Costco Fan-Favorite Bakery Item Just Got More Expensive

When shoppers go to Costco, they can usually expect to find tons of bargains. The wholesale warehouse consistently delivers bulk items for a fraction of the price of other retailers. As a result, there are plenty of staple products that fans swear by. From rotisserie chicken to pies, cakes, sashimi platters, and Costco's iconic food court, there are simply too many delicious deals to list.

So, when fans recently noticed that one of Costco's most beloved bakery items has increased in price, you bet the internet had something to say about it.

Costco Croissants Now Cost $1 More

Unfortunately, eggs aren’t the only grocery item seeing a price increase. The revered Costco croissants, which previously retailed for $5.99, are now selling for $6.99. A customer had noticed the change and quickly shared it on the Costco subreddit. “Noooo,” they wrote, sharing an image showcasing the 12-count croissants with the new price.

“We noticed a lot of products [are] up 50¢ to $1+ during our weekly Costco run for the essentials,” one shopper commented.

Other Costco customers chimed in, revealing how they’ve noticed price increases on other items like coffee, cinnamon rolls, and avocados. Many speculated that the price increase could be in response to new tariffs on consumer goods.

While many people were bummed to see the price hike, there were others, who insisted that despite the price increase, the croissants are still a fantastic deal. “If you go to a cafe, they are selling the same croissants for $3 to $4 each," a shopper commented.

As we continue into 2025, here's hoping we won’t see too many additional price increases from our favorite grocery stores.
