Costco Shoppers Outraged After This 'Privilege' Is Taken Away—'Members Can't Be Trusted'
To be a Costco member, you must "bend like the wind" because at any given moment there's bound to be a change at the warehouse. Whether it's something expected like an increase to membership fees or something more epic, like the food court's recent plan to switch to Coca-Cola products, a change is gonna come.
In fact, according to a recent post on Reddit, there's been a change to a popular feature at one warehouse, and coffee-loving Costco-goers aren't happy.
"Uh oh, I don’t know what happened… but we lost our grinder privileges," reads the Reddit post. Along with that note, there's a photo of a Costco coffee grinder with the following message attached to it: "Attention Members: Coffee grinders will no longer be provided."
At many Costco locations, you can grind your own coffee beans using in-store coffee bean grinders. Although it's unclear why the privilege was taken away from the Redditor's local Costco, it's a safe bet that bad behavior may have been to blame.
"Someone put chocolate covered coffee beans in the one at my local grocery store...," one person commented.
"Double grinding, grinding nuts through, dropping brushes. Members can't be trusted not to disrespect property they don't own, essentially," read another message.
This wouldn't be the first time bad behavior at Costco has gone viral. In a Reddit post shared earlier this month, a couple was called out for rearranging bakery items at Costco with their bare hands.
Attention Costco shoppers: Let's do better.
