When you think of Dairy Queen, the first thing that comes to mind might be a classic dipped cone or your favorite Blizzard, like the current Mint Oreo Blizzard just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. (By the way, did you know you can try re-creating a Blizzard at home?)

But DQ isn't just about the dairy. The fast food chain also has a hot food menu with savory items like cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, and fries.

Now, a savory seasonal menu item is returning for a limited time. We think it'll be a hit, whether or not eating fish on Fridays this time of year pertains to you.

Dairy Queen’s Wild Alaskan Fish Sandwich

Some chains, including McDonald’s and Burger King, offer fried fish sandwiches year-round. While they might not be the most popular items on the menu (burgers and chicken sandwiches rule), some fans choose a crisp fish sandwich over anything else (we're looking at you, Valerie Bertenelli). We recently asked chefs for their favorite fish sandwiches.

Other fast food spots, such as Popeyes, add a breaded-and-fried fish sandwich when Lent arrives. This year, Dairy Queen is doing just that by offering the Wild Alaskan Fish Sandwich for a limited time.

The sandwich features a fried wild-caught pollock fillet that promises to deliver "a pleasingly crunchy outside with a tender inside." It also comes with tartar sauce and lettuce, and everything is tucked between a toasted bun.

We think the seasonal option would be terrific paired with one of DQ’s newest treats—the Orange Cream Flavored Shake or the Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone—because, why not make life a little sweeter? We're hook, line, and sinker for it.
