Daisy Edgar-Jones blew us away in a dramatic Vivienne Westwood corset gown
We know method dressing is a big deal on the red carpet and any star-of-the-moment’s promo tour run – Zendaya took tenniscore to the max, and of course, Margot will forever be a Barbie dream. While a bit more understated but nonetheless as chic as you can expect, Daisy Edgar-Jones certainly gave us some of that on the red carpet. Stay with us, and let us explain...
Last night [8 July, 2024], Daisy stepped out at the Twisters European movie premiere in London alongside her co-star Glen Powell. Of course, the Normal People star went above and beyond in the fashion department, opting to wear a floor-length, brown Vivienne Westwood gown. Sounds simple, right?
Wrong!
The gown features a corseted, strapless bodice that highlights the typical Viv Westwood silhouette, with a high-leg slit and a flowing chiffon skirt ruched at the waist. The top is draped with a black cape over one shoulder. Dramatiqué chic. The flow of the dress, the sweeping sculptural bodice, the striking silhouette, the stark colour palette – it’s giving force of nature... it’s giving... Twisters. You with us?
Daisy finished the look with a pair of patent black-heeled pumps and a minimal selection of gold jewellery to complement.
As Lady Gaga would say: “Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same,” etcetera, etcetera.
I mean, Daisy couldn’t look any more different to her character, Kate Cooper, in the thriller-action movie. Draw comparisons to the two by watching the trailer below.
The story follows Kate after a devastating encounter with a tornado, where she gets lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (played by Anthony Ramos), to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. Tyler Owens (played by Glen) soon appears and the three then find themselves in a fight for their lives as multiple systems converge over central Oklahoma.
We remain totally blown away (sorry).
And so, while we eagerly wait for the film’s release, we look forward to Daisy turning more looks for her Twisters tour.
