Dakota Johnson's floaty yellow sundress is the ultimate summer inspiration
Dakota Johnson’s latest look is all the summer inspiration we need. The actress stepped out this weekend in a floaty yellow sundress from Dôen while filming in New York City, nailing city summer dressing in the process.
Johnson was pictured while on set for the upcoming romantic comedy, The Materialists. Her buttery yellow ensemble, made of a semi-sheer silk fabric, featured a ruffled neckline and airy skirt. The maxi dress was covered in a soft yellow, orange, and purple floral print.
Johnson (or rather, her on-set stylist) paired the dress with black cat-eye sunglasses and black Nike Cortez sneakers. A simple twisted updo, complete with the actor’s signature bangs, finished off her flowy look.
The Materialists is Celine Song's second feature after last year's Past Lives. The film, which reportedly features a love triangle between Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, has been filming in New York for several weeks — and it's already shaping up to be a masterclass in chic New York style.
Last month, Johnson was spotted in a luxe leather jacket while kissing Pascal on set, and just last week, she showed off a striking cobalt blue strapless dress — while kissing another co-star, Evans, on set. All things considered, it seems The Materialists will be a steamy movie. Set in New York City, the plot features a (seemingly very fashionable) matchmaker whose “lucrative business gets complicated when she falls into a toxic love triangle that threatens her clients”.
That said, not all of Johnson’s moodboard-worthy looks are happening on set. The actor pulled up to her trailer on Friday in a cropped white tee and burgundy wide-leg trousers, effortlessly tying a red sweater around her neck. She capped off the look with a navy Mets baseball hat, black oval sunglasses, and teal trainers.
