David Koma Dives Into Swimwear With New Lifestyle Brand

LET'S SWIM is the new swimwear and lifestyle brand from designer David Koma, offering an exploration into the ocean and its vast environment. At the heart of the collection sits the LET'S SWIM mascot, a humble shark which aims to represent conservation and protection.

Born from Koma's love of travel, the new label aims to capture the feeling of freedom and liberation that comes from being at the beach or by the pool, mimicking a "state of unrestrained undress."

"LET'S SWIM has provided me with a platform to explore new interests, a concept that ties my love of travel to my work in fashion. I've always been intrigued by single-product brands, and swimwear felt like a natural progression and creative outlet. LET'S SWIM ties together the idea of travelling to beautiful destinations and my fascination with sharks and aquatic life. It celebrates the beauty of the human body and the wonders of the marine world cohesively, helping to change people's misconceptions about sharks through cinematic stories from divers and conservationists," says Koma.

Recreating classic silhouettes, the first collection draws inspiration from swimwear in the '80s, featuring ten bikinis and five swimsuits alongside eight beachwear cover-ups. Standout pieces include the One Shoulder Bandeau Swimsuit and Mesh Maxi Dress, in hues of blue, red, white and black.

Sustainability is key to the LET'S SWIM brand, with 96% of pieces crafted from ECOYNYL, a regenerated nylon yarn made from post-consumer waste. 100% of the collection is made from organic cotton and recycled polyamide, plus fully recyclable packaging. The brand also aims to work collaboratively with divers, shark conservationists and charities to make oceans safer for marine life.
