Beautiful clothing, and just a really, wonderful beginning to the Golden Globe weekend. I have my dress picked out. I don't have my diamonds picked out yet. So, I'm gonna be looking around a little bit today. it's always a great party. You get to really catch up with friends that you haven't seen because everybody's working or traveling. So many girlfriends and it's a great excuse to have champagne in the middle of the day and yap, yap, yap, yap, yap. Yeah, I mean Twilight has just been, you know, just sort of took everything and fipped it upside down. I just like to indulge my girly side every once in a while. Fashion show, lots of good jewelry and catching up with other women. And it's just a really nice way to spend an afternoon. So it's always nice to be able to look around and say oh, my gosh it's so cute. That totally works. And it's all the up and coming fashion. The diamonds and the ladies. So it's really nice to get around a lot of really lovely smelling ladies who are dressed well. And you know, watch all the women and their bling. It's an exciting week. Our show's nominated for lots of stuff. That means getting to go to some of the parties. I love girly events. And I love fashion. And I love learning about fashion. Side job at 22 always to get here from Bombay. So it's pretty crazy because it's been such a whirlwind ride. And you know, you really need time to go back home and let everything sink in. It hasn't sunk in at all. It's been four months and it hasn't sunk in at all. [MUSIC] Oh, God, you can totally sell an outfit with accessories. If you really spend money on those, you can wear a dress from Target. These are Coniac diamonds, which, I think, suit me well because I'm a redhead. So I think maybe they should just give them to me. Don't you think? [LAUGH] [MUSIC]

"There’s going to be all kinds of new things to play with and joke about," Messing said during an appearance on the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s podcast, The HFPA in Conversation. "Grace is getting a love interest, which I’m looking very forward to. Karen [Megan Mullally] is getting divorced, Will [Eric McCormack] is changing jobs, and Jack [Sean Hayes] is getting married […] big sweeping changes."

What else can viewers expect when the show comes back this fall? NBC already confirmed that Chelsea Handler will join the quartet as Donna Zimmer, one of Grace's clients that happens to be a "power lesbian" that gets very, very cozy with someone close to everyone's favorite interior decorator. Alec Baldwin will also be making a return to the show, so prepare for plenty of rapid-fire back-and-forths—and plenty of steamy chemistry—between his character, government agent Malcolm Widmark, and Karen.

The podcast gave Messing a chance to reflect back on the show's legacy as well as tease the upcoming season. During her time on the show, she had no idea that it would be such a poignant and powerful platform for social change. When the cast and crew realized just how much the show meant to so many people, they used it to support marriage equality, even going so far as reaching our to the White House.

“It became apparent that the show was politically and socially relevant in a way that surprised all of us, and it was a source of enormous pride for me,” Messing said. “We tried to use our platform on that show to pass gay marriage when it was on, but it didn’t work […] so years later, when Vice President Biden said that he supported gay marriage and he felt that Will & Grace did more for the cause than anything else in society […] other than the birth of my child, that was the proudest moment of my life.”
