Decades-old Johnson County Chinese restaurant closed this year. This just opened there
In the two weeks that China Blue has been open in Shawnee, manager Amy Wang said things have been “good so far.”
It helps that the new restaurant is replacing East China, the restaurant that was open for more than two decades at the 5556 Hedge Lane Terrace location. It closed a few months ago.
The owners of East China were ready to retire, Wang said.
Now, owner Xue Xiu Lin is operating his restaurant in its place, hoping to retain some of his predecessor’s loyal customers.
China Blue is available for dine-in, takeout, pickup or delivery.
On its lunch menu: hibachi shrimp, teriyaki chicken, sweet and sour pork, and several other entrees. Sides include hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, crab rangoons, egg rolls, steamed rice or fried rice.
Dinner options include its teriyaki steak meal and its hibachi shrimp bowl.
China Blue is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. It is closed Mondays.
