Denise Austin shared a lower body workout on Instagram.
The 67-year-old demonstrated a “one-minute” move for toning the thighs and core.
“It’s SO worth it!!” Austin said of the simple yet effective exercise.
We appreciate Denise Austin for many reasons—but her easy workout videos for women over 50 top the list. Recently, the fitness star dropped another effective workout tutorial on Instagram, this time sharing a lower body workout comprised of just one simple move to target thighs.
“Do you want to tone and tighten up your thigh muscles? Well do a wall sit!” Austin said at the beginning of the video before demonstrating the move. “It’s so great for the legs, it’s great for your butt, and if you can hold this for up to about 20 seconds, you’re doing great!”
“Get up with me right now and try this move, it only takes a minute but works so many muscles at one time…it’s SO worth it!!” Austin added in the caption of the video.
To perform the move, Austin used no equipment—all you need for this one is a wall. As she explained in the caption, she begins by resting her back against the wall, lowering her body down, and walking her feet out so her bent legs reach about a 90-degree angle (thighs parallel to the floor). “The lower you go the harder it will be…you will feel the burn in your quads, glutes, calves, and core!” Austin wrote. “Hold for as long as you can and repeat three-to-four times!!”
As usual, Austin’s followers enjoyed the simple and informative video. “Love these Denise!! 😍😍😍,” one follower commented. “Wall sits are the best!!” another added. “I might do that after my workout tonight just for you, maybe up to a minute LOL😂❤️” another chimed in.
Consider adding some of Austin’s other fan-favorite lower-body moves to your next sweat session. The fitness pro previously demonstrated three “quick” and “effective” firming and toning thigh exercises, including backward and side lunge variations. If you’re looking for something more low-impact, Austin has you covered with a mini squat workout that’s easier on the joints.
We love following along and learning from Austin—and we can’t wait to see how the fitness pro will motivate us next. In the meantime, we’ll be stocking up on some Austin-approved gear to prepare for our next workout.
