Did Bella Hadid walk the runway wearing a padded toilet seat around her neck? See the weirdest items at fashion week.
Weird and wild fashion is nothing new to the catwalk. During Paris Fashion Week on Thursday night, Bella Hadid walked down Off-White’s runway wearing what appears to be a plush, padded mini toilet seat around her neck, as one Twitter user noted. Although it’s not actually a toilet seat, it does bear a remarkable uncanny resemblance to one. In the show, Hadid walked alongside her model pal, Kendall Jenner, each of them wearing all-white athletic ensembles. The theme of Virgil Abloh’s Off-White collection was, fittingly, track and field.
Real-life track stars from across the globe walked in the show, including English Gardner, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, and Cecilia Yeung. Abloh’s connection to sport is nothing new. Earlier this summer, the designer unveiled his special collaboration with Nike in designing a tennis-themed collection for Serena Williams to wear during the U.S. Open. This collection’s mixture of sport and high fashion felt only natural.
Neon-green one-piece track uniforms were intermixed with svelte blazers, snakeskin-print trousers, and a couture version of Williams’ tennis tutu look, this time in a soft shade of baby blue and an asymmetrical tulle maxi skirt.
Off-White’s “toilet seat” is just one of many odd and strange fashion accessories to come down the catwalk this fashion week. Click ahead to see more.
