Did You Notice? Dakota Johnson's Younger Sister Walked The Gucci Show
Fashion has long been something of a family affair, whether it's sibling duos designing together, sisters joining sisters on the runway, or even in the chosen communities that creatives cultivate. Case in point, once again, was Gucci's SS25 show.
The headlines might have been about Dakota Johnson's daring outfit, but look away from the front row and towards the catwalk, and you'll find that an altogether more personal story was playing out for the The Lost Daughter actor. Besides attending the Gucci show to continue her long-standing relationship with the house – that began during Alessandro Michele's tenure and now endures into Sabato De Sarno's turn – Johnson was also there to see her half-sister, Atherton Grace Johnson, walk the red lacquer catwalk.
Dressed in an all-white look with blackout sunglasses, the model somewhat slipped under the radar as she went about her day job – and it didn't feel like stunt casting, either.
The 24-year-old has plenty of experience on the catwalk, having walked a handful of shows already, including Gucci's 2021 star-studded Love Parade extravaganza.
Despite the 10-year age gap, the Johnson sisters are clearly very close, having shared red carpets together in the past, such as arriving at the 2019 Met Gala hand-in-hand. Then, however, the younger of the two wore her hair a platinum blonde shade, but has since swapped to something more akin to Dakota's famous brunette style.
While Johnson has established herself as a Hollywood heavyweight, it's also worth noting the familial credentials that surround her and her younger half-sibling. The pair both share a father in Miami Vice actor Don Johnson, while Dakota's mother is icon of Eighties cinema, Melanie Griffith, who herself is the daughter of Hitchcock heroine, Tippi Hedren... Are you keeping up?
Through her mother's third marriage, which ended in 2015, Dakota had a step-father in Antonio Banderas. Together, Banderas and Griffith had a daughter, Stella, who herself is part of the Gucci family and super close with both Johnson sisters, too.
