There is no doubt that dirty soda is having a moment right now. The drink, which is a mixture of soda, coffee creamer, and flavored syrup, soared in popularity this year, thanks to the reality show “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives." It became so popular that even Coffee Mate got in on the fun, releasing a flavor intended to be mixed with Dr. Pepper rather than coffee.

So, what does dirty soda taste like? It might remind you of a melted ice cream float or an Italian cream soda. But instead of seltzer water, you use some kind of soda, usually a dark variety like Diet Coke.

When Taylor Frankie Paul, one of the stars of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives", shared a new spin on this popular drink, fans rushed to their nearest Taco Bell drive-thru to try it.

The Dirty Baja Blast Trend

In a recent TikTok video, Paul shared with followers how she makes a dirty soda with Baja Blast. “This might sound a little different, but I do add creamer. It just makes it that much better,” she says as she pours coffee creamer into the cup until the Baja Blast’s vibrant blue color transforms into a lighter, pastel hue. She then mixes it up and takes a sip. “So good. A vanilla Baja Blast,” Paul exclaims.

As expected, the reactions were mixed. “I just don’t think I can get with the creamer in the Baja, just can’t lol,” wrote one TikToker. “I’m not from Utah, and creamer in soda sounds so insane to me. Equivalent to putting mustard on your PB&J,” added another.

Most commenters, however, love the idea and can’t wait to try it. “I feel like the coconut creamer would slap so hard in Baja,” wrote one person. A few fans shared that Taco Bell may even add the cream for you. "You can ask them to put vanilla coffee creamer in your Baja Blast at the restaurant!! Even better with a frozen Baja Blast–you gotta try!!” shared one fan.

It’s clear that the dirty soda trend is here to stay for a while, so it might be worth giving it a try if you haven’t already. Plus, now that you can buy Baja Blast in stores, you don’t even have to leave the house to whip one of these together.
