  • Disneyland Paris has a new restaurant under the helm of chef Jean Imbert, who is bringing cuisine straight from iconic Disney films. Keep reading to see what those dishes are.

If the cuisine at La Forêt Secrète par Jean Imbert looks like something out of a Disney film, that’s because it is.

The latest restaurant from the French chef opened its doors inside the five-star Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris on March 7th. Imbert revisited his favorite Disney films, alongside memories of childhood visits to the theme park just outside the French capital, to create a gastronomic menu straight from the silver screen.

The theatrically-styled dishes Imbert has brought to life include Under the Sea, a langoustine, shellfish, and caviar sprinkled appetizer inspired by The Little Mermaid, and Prince Ali’s Tajine, a chicken stuffed with dates and dried fruit entree influenced by Aladdin. Made with tomato water and white balsamic condiment, Remy’s Ratatouille is a fine dining twist on the provençal vegetable classic from Ratatouille, while Tony and Joe’s Spaghetti is the legendary Lady and the Tramp spaghetti dish featuring veal confit and a Comté cheese emulsion.

“The dishes have to be both highly recognizable and very subtle,” Imbert told Travel + Leisure.

Desserts are similarly imaginative, offering up the Lost Ark Shortbread, a vanilla, caramel, candied lemon, and almond crumble fit for Indiana Jones, and a sweet blueberry, vanilla, and Timut berry (an ingredient from Nepal similar to Sichuan berries) inspired by Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. Diners can order the basil and caviar lime Enchanted Apple, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, if they dare.

The restaurant, which is open Wednesday to Sunday evenings only, proposes two menus: a three-course Discovery Menu, priced at €140 ($152), or a five-course Tasting Menu, priced at €200 ($218). There’s also a three-course children’s menu priced at €70 ($76), with dishes such as The Lantern Festival (aka fish and chips) à la Tangled and Alice’s Biscuits (strawberry and chocolate biscuits fashioned like playing cards) from Alice in Wonderland.

The decor is also a match to the magic of the menu. “(It’s) designed to look like an enchanted forest, inspired by the magical forests found in many Disney films such as Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and many others,” Imbert said.

Bookings for La Forêt Secrète par Jean Imbert can be made by calling Disneyland Paris on +33 1 60 30 20 50 (available 24/7 in English) or at the Disneyland Hotel concierge desk.
