There's nothing we love more than finding a good Netflix series to sink our teeth into, and the platform's latest release, Keep Breathing, has had us gripped.

The survival drama has landed all the way at number one in the Netflix Top 10, following the story of New York lawyer Liv (Melissa Barrera) - the sole survivor of a plane crash in the middle of the Canadian wilderness.

While the show starts out by tracking Liv's efforts to stay alive, it soon begins to delve more and more into her past, with viewers divided over the story's double focus.

Still, there's *lots* of plot to delve into. So, if you need a recap, here's a run-through of the Keep Breathing ending, explained.

Throughout the series, the reasons behind Liv's near-fatal plane journey become increasingly clearer. She's on a mission to track down her estranged mother, Lucia, in Inuvik, a town in the Northwest Territories of Canada. The motivation behind her trip? Liv has just discovered she's pregnant with colleague Danny's baby - prompting her to track down the mother who walked out when she was a child. Following her father Tomás' death, Liv finds a collection of postcards from Lucia with updates on her location, which Tomás had kept from her.

In the second-to-last episode, an exhausted Liv ends up hallucinating a reunion with her mother, where she gets answers and closure over what happened.

Then, in the series finale, she appears to finally be saved by two men who pull her out of a river. After that, there are flash-forwards of Liv's life ahead, including her baby's birth and a happy future with Danny. However, thanks to the previous hallucination with her mother, it's hard to tell what's real and what's imagined in Liv's exhausted state.

Still, one thing's for sure: Liv is saved and does make it out alive, thanks to confirmation from the show's creators, Brendan Gall and Martin Gero.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Gall explained, "The ending is literal in that she survives. We see her wake up again and take that breath."

However, all might not be as it seems. Gall went on, "The ambiguous part, the part up for interpretation, is whether the images of her and Danny going to the hospital are flash forwards or her imagined future when she believes she's dying. Both are valid."

Gero then confirmed for a second time, "But she survives. She absolutely survives."

Hey, we're glad that's been verified for good!
