It's called fashion, look it up.

It’s that time of the year, the biggest night in music videos. And while the A-listers are making their way to the red carpet, I am currently trying to pick my jaw up off the floor. To everyone’s surprise (maybe just mine), the first star to kick off the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards is the pop sensation that needs no introduction: Doja Cat.

The singer, who is nominated for five awards tonight, including Best Video and Artist of the Year, is taking the stage in New Jersey to perform later this evening. While making her grand entrance, however, Doja Cat brought a whole new meaning to the naked dress wearing nothing but a totally see-through dress that was artfully netted with white spiderwebs. For the event, Doja went braless, wearing nothing but a nude thong underneath, and teamed the barely there dress with clear pointed-toe pumps.

Giving major spooky energy, she further accessorized with diamond-encrusted spider ear cuffs, diamond drop earrings, a smattering of diamond rings, and two coordinating wrap bracelets.

Beauty-wise, she paired her platinum blonde buzzcut with pencil-thin eyebrows, a dusting of white eyeshadow, feathered lashes, and a brown lip liner with gloss.

This year's very revealing 'fit is nothing new from Doja Cat. In 2021, the four-time VMAs winner hosted the award show in a plethora of campy, head-turning looks. She arrived in a plunging black corset with dark purple draping and cherry red thigh-high patent tights by Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood. She paired the minidress with towering platform crisscross sandals and a statement necklace with coordinating drop earrings.
