Doritos' New Flavor Is In Our Top 5 Of All Time—See How The Rest Rank

Every Doritos Flavor Ranked From Worst To Best Izabela Campos

Whenever there's a Frito Lay variety pack at a party, Doritos are always some of the first to go—and for good reason. These seasoned corn chips are crispy, savory, cheesy, and so satisfying. The bright tint left behind on our fingers is absolutely worth it. Few chips have the same star power that Doritos do—it's not like they're serving Fritos Locos Tacos at Taco Bell.

You're most likely well-acquainted with the traditional Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch flavors. But Frito Lay is constantly churning out new Doritos flavors to spice things up. Most notably, 2025 has brought the launch of Golden Sriracha Doritos. (Don't worry, we're including the new flavor in this ranking.)

We here at Delish consider ourselves Dorito connoisseurs. So we took on the monumental task of finding every flavor available in the United States and tasting them all. And now, we're ranking them from worst to best. Turns out, the results were not what we expected. Sure, you some old favorites are near the top of the list. But a sleeper hit snuck its way to the number one spot. Curious to see which Dorito reigns supreme? Then check out our super scientific and objective ranking.

15. Blazin' Buffalo & Ranch

Several of our testers described their feelings about this flavor in just a single word: "no." We're supportive of adding Buffalo flavor to things besides wings—just not here. You get some spice and ranch-inspired zestiness, but each bite overwhelmingly tastes like artificial butter. One editor describe this chip as having an "identity crisis." And honestly? We agree.

14. Simply Organic White Cheddar

We can appreciate where Frito-Lay is going here. And since there's the USDA Organic seal, this is one Doritos flavor that's guaranteed to be made without artificial dyes or flavors. But let's be real: if we're in the mood for Doritos, we're not looking for an organic, health-conscious option. The cheese flavor is weak, the texture isn't as crispy as we'd like, and it's overall just unsatisfying. And from a nutrition standpoint, the macros are essentially identical to Nacho Cheese. Not worth it.

13. Flamas

Flamas is a flavor that comes from Sabritas, the Mexican subsidiary of Frito Lay. The seasoning used here is a combination of spicy chile and zesty lime, with the latter seriously overwhelming each bite. This is a "very citrusy" chip, according to several of our tasters. While a handful of people enjoyed it, the lime was too much for almost everybody else (even those who like limón chips in general).

12. Flamin' Hot Cool Ranch

The Flamin' Hot flavor is powerful in a bag of Cheetos but it doesn't necessarily transfer well to other Frito-Lay chips. And when the chip is as distinct in flavor as Cool Ranch is, the overall taste is just muddled and confused.

"There's far too much going on in this chip," says one of our editors. "It's not focused enough." Another taster described the addition of Flamin' Hot seasoning as "too distracting."

11. Tapatío

Several people on our team grew up dousing their Doritos with lime juice and hot sauce. This flavor captures that nostalgia by integrating the flavors of Tapatío directly in the seasoning blend. There's a boost of vinegar-y acidity and a strong dusting of spice, which ended up being pretty polarizing.

A few tasters found it to be too strong and spicy, while hot sauce lovers enjoyed every bite. One editor described the flavor as potent and said that this chip is made for you "if you casually drink hot sauce."

10. Salsa Verde

Salsa verde and Doritos are the combo we didn't know we needed. The bright and fresh flavors of jalapeño, onion, and tomato make these much lighter than the standard Dorito offerings. It's also balanced with savory flavor coming from both MSG and chicken broth. However, we're docking a few points for being nearly impossible to find at most grocery stores.

9. Dinamita Chile Limón

Frito-Lay launched Dortios Dinamita Chile Limón nearly ten years ago as a Takis-inspired rolled tortilla snack. It might not be as spicy as the OG, but compared to the rest of the brand's offerings, it's pretty darn solid.

8. Flamin' Hot Nacho

Our same critique for Flamin' Hot Nacho applies to their Cool Ranch version. It's not really bringing much in terms of spice beyond bright red dust. We still think that dust tastes better on Cheetos, but at least it makes some sort of sense with Nacho Cheese.

7. Flamin' Hot Limón

Tart chips can be polarizing, but Flamin' Hot Limón is the best Flamin' Hot Dorito we tasted. The heat hits at the end so you can eat a significant amount without blowing out your palate. The lime is truly the star here. So if you like limón chips, grab a bag.

6. Spicy Nacho

This flavor is great in theory but misses the mark in execution. We love their original Nacho Cheese flavor and we love spice. However, the latter is almost entirely missing. Where is the spice, Frito-Lay? Spicy Nacho is almost completely indiscernible from the OG—it's still good, but we're a bit disappointed.

5. Golden Sriracha

Golden Sriracha is the newest flavor in the Doritos lineup, and it surprisingly shot up to the top five overall. It doesn't taste like the classic Sriracha you know and love; instead it's sweet and lightly spicy (almost like sweet and sour sauce). It's complex, savory, and something we'll be reaching for regularly.

4. Sweet & Tangy BBQ

This is one of the newer additions to the Doritos lineup, and it's already becoming a staple flavor. We're used to barbecue flavors on potato chips, but the tortilla chips really work here.

3. Cool Ranch

One of our tasters described Cool Ranch as an "elite Doritos chip, no question." And we agree: it's a classic for a reason. It's jam packed with herbaceous tangy flavor and works in multiple applications, whether dusted on a Taco Bell crunchy shell taco or eaten straight out of the bag.

2. Nacho Cheese

Sorry Cool Ranch lovers. The OG Nacho Cheese is simply superior. It's classic, dependable, and consistently delicious. Especially after trying some of these...less delicious flavors, tasting Nacho Cheese feels like a lovely homecoming. One of our editors claimed that it's "one of the finest processed foods of all time."

1. Spicy Sweet Chili

Spicy Sweet Chili is the whole package: it's savory, mildly sweet, and has a lingering spice that's present without being overwhelming. It's also the only vegan flavor in the Doritos lineup. We could clear an entire bag of these in one sitting—and we have.
