Downtown Bradenton set to host Halloween block party. What to know before you go

Bradenton is throwing a Halloween party downtown on Old Main Street with costumes, food, vendors, and live music.

Like its neighbors to the south, Bradenton is preparing downtown for a Halloween block party on Old Main Street.

The inaugural Halloween Festival takes place Saturday, Oct. 26 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Live music on stage, food trucks and vendors selling merchandise are planned for the downtown Bradenton event.

The City of Bradenton, Heintz Law, Z105 Rock and iHeartRadio are sponsors. Bradenton Alive, which throws an annual Independence Day party in downtown Bradenton, is the event organizer.

Sarasota has held a Halloween block party for many years the weekend before Halloween in years when the spooky holiday falls on a weekday. This year’s Halloween falls on a Thursday.

There are no ticket required to attend the Bradenton event. It’s free and open to the public.

According to Google’s Frightgeist, which tracks the top costumes throughout the country, Dolly Parton is the No. 1 costume for the Tampa Bay area, as of Thursday, followed by Dexter, Red from “The Descendants,” Wolverine and Merida from Disney’s “Brave.”
