While I have nothing but admiration for those who wear combat boots year-round, the shoes are a fall-winter exclusive in my books. Combat boots, specifically those from Dr. Martens, are as important to my cold-weather wardrobe as any jacket or pair of gloves.
And, when I look to some of Hollywood's favourite fashion girls, I know I'm not the only one who stands by the brand's chunky leather shoes. From Heidi Klum to Olivia Rodrigo, celebrities of all ages and aesthetics seem to own a pair of Docs.
While any style of Doc Martens will add an edge to your wardrobe, the brand's Sinclair Booties are what I have my eyes on this fall. Beloved by Heidi Klum and Selena Gomez, read on to discover why Nordstrom shoppers give the heavy-duty ankle boots their five-star seal of approval.

The details
Retailing for $280 CAD/$200 USD, Dr. Martens' cult-favourite Sinclair boots (shop here in Canada, here in U.S.) are one of the brand's best-selling styles. The ankle-high grained leather boots can be worn both laced and zipped-up and feature a two-inch heel and 1.5-inch platform, giving everyone the illusion of supermodel legs.
Whether styled with the classic Dr. Martens military feel or Heidi Klum's rainbow-hued separates, the rugged ankle boots are a must-have for the colder months.
'A beautiful spin on the classic Docs'
Earning an average rating of 4.5 stars, Nordstrom shoppers say the Dr. Martens work boots are "comfortable right out of the box," unlike some of the brand's other styles.
"They're a beautiful spin on the classic Docs," raves one shopper. "They're comfortable and don't even have to be worn in because the leather is so soft."
Plus, "the zippers are removable, [so] you're really getting two very different styles," writes another reviewer.
The heavy-duty ankle boots are available in sizes 5 to 11 and can be found in both white and black leather.
"They match with everything and I love how you can take out the zipper for two different looks," explains another reviewer.
However, some Nordstrom shoppers note the Sinclair boots run large and recommend ordering a size down, as the brand doesn't offer half sizes.
"I'm going to have to wear thick socks or double socks and put in an extra insole," one shopper writes about the Dr. Martens sizing.
Verdict
When it comes to fall boots, the supermodel-approved Dr. Martens Sinclair Booties are a twist on a classic combat boot style — but shoppers do advise they run big. To shop more of the brand's celebrity-approved boots for fall, check out our picks below.
