This Dreamy Ring Is Steeped in Irish Folklore

I have never been much of a jewelry fanatic. I adore it in other people, though I usually put my energy into other accessories, like shoes. But recently, a diamond ring steeped in Irish folklore caught my eye, and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.
This gold ring by Chupi is cast to the mold of a twig from a hawthorn tree — not just any branch, but one that founder Chupi Sweetman came across while starting the label. In Irish mythology, she says, it's bad to break a branch from a tree that's alive, especially if it's a hawthorn tree, which is a "fairy tree". (Trees also represent ancestry.)
Since then, twigs have became a brand code for Chupi. Not only do I love the story behind the motif, but I'm so drawn to the unconventional look of this ring, which is dotted with five lab-grown diamonds that sit like leaves on the ends of branches. On your finger, it becomes a dazzling, expensive adornment. Sure, it could be an engagement ring, but it'd also make a luxurious treat-yourself gift, which is what I'm contemplating.
