Dua Lipa's Completely See-Through Butterfly Dress Was an Ode to Grammy-Winning Pop Icons

Jennifer Lopez's green Versace dress may have a little bit of competition. This year, Dua Lipa graced the Grammy Awards red carpet in an eye-catching Versace creation that happened to be completely see-through and covered in crystals.

Lipa's 2021 Grammys gown featured an intricate, sparkling butterfly on the bodice, with its antennae joining the dress's spaghetti straps to add to the rhinestone-encrusted neckline. The dress's flowing, mesh-and-crystal skirt (complete with super-high, thigh-grazing slit) covered a pink bikini-style lining and Lipa finished the look off with strappy high heels as well as ANANYA and Spinelli Kilcollin Delphinius rings.

The barely there dress showed off her multiple tattoos and she coordinated her pastel eye makeup with the candy colors in the dress.

The butterfly bodice dress drew comparisons to other Grammy-winning divas: Mariah Carey, who famously wore a butterfly top with low-rise denim during her "Heartbreaker" era, and Christina Aguilera who wore a butterfly dress to the 2000 Grammys.

Lipa is continuing her loyalty to the house of Donatella with tonight's jawdropping dress. Last year, she wore a mini dress from Versace's underwater collection to the American Music Awards. At the 2019 Grammys, when she took home two gramophone trophies, she wore a Versace gown inspired by another iconic creation: Elizabeth Hurley's safety-pin dress from 1994.
