Dua Lipa's Red Hair Flawlessly Matched Her Rose-Inspired Gown at the 2024 Critics' Choice Awards
She's always in bloom.
Red was the color of the night at the 2024 Critics' Choice Awards — from the custom crimson Balmain gown worn by Margot Robbie to Emily Blunt's Armani Privé dress that featured a single statuesque rosette on the shoulder. But no one pulled off the rosy shade quite like Dua Lipa.
Looking like a literal English rose, the pop star arrived on the red carpet wearing a red Prada gown constructed entirely from a textured fabric that resembled flower petals. Additionally, the floor-length dress featured a strapless neckline, a column silhouette, and nipped in at the waist. Dua's red hair, which was pulled up in a half-down, half-up style with side bangs, flawlessly matched her gown and revealed a pair of statement ruby-and-diamond Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. earrings underneath.
As for glam, the singer kept it classic with winged liner and a swipe of nude lipstick. A swirl of rose-colored blush and a few flicks of mascara rounded out her makeup look.

At the event, Dua's single on the Barbie soundtrack "Dance the Night" was up for Best Song, and back in December, she spoke with the Los Angeles Times about the challenges of writing it. “I’m so used to going into the studio and talking about myself and my feelings and what’s happening in my life,” she explained. “Trying to embody a character that’s [in] somebody else’s world, how do I go in and tell that story? [This was] an assignment, which I hadn’t really done before.”
Dua continued, "When Greta and Mark told me about what part of the film they wanted me to write a song for, it was the pinnacle moment where everything changes from good to bad [for Barbie]. I love juxtaposition. I love dance-crying."
