Emma Stone's Sheer Black Lace Dress Nailed the Lingerie-As-Evening-Wear Trend

These days, lingerie isn't just for the bedroom. In fact, ever since Carrie Bradshaw rocked the now-historic naked dress on her date with Mr. Big in season one of Sex and the City, lingerie has been fair game as evening wear—the more sheer and delicate, the better. Emma Stone is the latest celeb to put her stamp on the lingerie-as-clothes trend. Attending the Louis Vuitton Womenswear Fall/Winter 2025-2026 show as part of Paris Fashion Week, the Poor Things actress donned a classic black lace lingerie-style slipdress.
The dress featured delicate lace trim on the neckline and under bust, while the skirt featured matching sheer lace panels. The spaghetti straps and the thin belt both featured gold bead detailing. She paired the dress with semi-sheer black tights, black strappy open-toed pumps, and a black Nano Biker handbag with a silver chain detail. While sitting inside the show, she threw an oversized black blazer over her shoulders.

Stone wore a pair of gold Louis Vuitton hoops and an array of silver rings. She kept her makeup look fresh and simple and rocked the choppy auburn pixie cut that she previously debuted at the 2025 Golden Globes.

Stone has been a brand ambassador at Louis Vuitton since 2017. As she told W Magazine at the time, her stylist, Petra Flannery, was “a huge component” in her decision to join forces with the fashion house.

Stone joins the ranks of some of the coolest fashion It-girls around with her latest sheer slip dress. Back in September, model Irina Shayk donned a similar sheer black slip dress while out on the town. That same month, Dakota Johnson also wore a slinky silk slip dress with a sheer lace bust and another sheer lace dress—white, this time—paired with a large leather jacket over her shoulders.
Stone is clearly onto something—and it seems that lingerie-as-evening-wear is not going anywhere anytime soon.
