If you follow Eva Longoria on social media, you know that she’s been going grey — because like the rest of us, she, too, is missing out on salon appointments while isolating at home.

But this week, the 45-year-old “Desperate Housewives” star took it to Instagram to share with fans her “favourite” and genius hack for faking the look of fresh touched-up roots at home during a lockdown.

In the IGTV clip, Longoria, who is also a L'Oreal Paris ambassador, demonstrates how easy and instant covering up roots can be using the brand's Magic Root Cover Up.

“You guys, that was was like 10-seconds,” raves Longoria, showing off her covered roots. “The other thing I love is that it doesn't get on my skin when I have makeup on. It doesn't fall; it doesn’t get on my hands. Like, I don’t know what this stuff is made of but it’s magic.”

Followers, including fellow celebrities, acted quickly to respond to the professional-like results in the comment section.

Serena Williams commented: “This is a must have!”

“That stuff is amazing!” echoed Olivia Munn. “Your hairline still looks natural too.”

So, how does it work?

This root touch up spray magically temporarily transforms the look of unsightly grey roots to salon-quality colour with just a quick spritz of its light-weight formula, leaving no smudging or sticky residue when dry.

This colour spay washes out easily and contains no ammonia or synthetic dyes. To use, shake well and spray on dry hair 10-15 cm from the roots using light steady pressure

The Magic Root Cover Up is available in seven shades and retails for only $11.
