The French satire Call My Agent! became a global hit when it first appeared on Netflix. Now, Eva Longoria will helm a Spanish-language remake of the show.

"Like so many people around the globe, I’ve been a huge fan of the original series since it first premiered," Longoria said in a statement. "I’m so excited to partner with Mediawan and Elefantec Global to bring one of the greatest properties that gives a witty and satirical look behind the curtain of the entertainment industry for the Spanish-speaking American market."

The adaptation will be co-produced by Mediawan, Elefantec Global, and Longoria's UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. Remakes of Call My Agent! have already been successful in Italy, Turkey, and the UK.

"Joining forces with Eva Longoria and [Elefantec CEO] Pepe Baston to take Call My Agent! to Latin America is a unique opportunity," Pierre-Antoine Capton, chairman of Mediawan, said. "Their talent and know-how combined with their international renown guarantee an innovative and premium adaptation of this series, a real funny and moving gem that the French creators were able to bring to life and which has since been traveling to audiences worldwide."

Baston added, "Made with Latin flavor for a global audience, we are sure this iteration will find success and viewers worldwide."

The original French Call My Agent! starring Camille Cottin, Thibault de Montalembert, and Grégory Montelis currently has four seasons out, and all are streaming on Netflix. In 2021, it was announced the show will return for a fifth season and a movie spinoff.
